The School Board is the official governing body of Macquarie Primary School. The Board consists of up to seven members: 3 parent representatives, 2 teacher representatives, the Principal and one appointed member. Members of the Board gain their positions through election.
The Board is responsible for all policy decisions for the school. Staggered two-year terms ensure continuity in the Board's work. The Macquarie Board encourages communication between the school and its community in approving the school's budget, curriculum and education policies as well as its many needs in relation to buildings, facilities, equipment and funds.

The Maintenance and Capital Works Master Plan defines specific goals for maintaining and upgrading Macquarie Primary school over the next 10 years.
